Out of a Cream Ridge Mirzay daughter. Marty has a very gentle disposition, is athletic and loves to be with people. He has a very long forelock and mane with a baroque top line. He is clean through the throat latch with a natural headset and the bottom line of his medium length neck is straight with no belly. He is a smooth, supple, elegant mover. His head is broad between the eyes with a slightly dished profile. With a long sloping shoulder, short back, a proportionate length hip, deep in the girth with a big heart, he has it all.
Marty personifies the original Morgan horse. At 14.2 he joins this following well respected group that were also about his size: Justin Morgan (Figure), Bulrush, Hale's Green Mountain Morgan, Hedlite's Micky Waer, Dapper Dan, Broadwall St. Pat, UVM Promise, Ashbrook, Donald, Croydon Prince, Mr. America, Blackhaux, Beamington, Mr. Breezy Cobra, The Brown Falcon, Lippitt Mandate and Holiday Compadre, just to name a few.
Marty is the grandson of our foundation stallion and Western Working National Champion, Cream Ridge Mirzay. He has 2 crosses to Mortana Pat, 2 crosses to Senatefield and 4 crosses to Fleetfield who was bred at the old USDA Government Morgan farm in Middlebury, Vermont now operated by the University of Vermont (UVM).
Marty also has a cross up close to Hedlite's Micky Waer (the top producing stallion on the west coast in the 1960's of winning show horses in conformation classes and many time winner of Get of Sire classes) through our foundation mare Beaver State Pennant (Hedlite's Micky Waer x Tripenny) who is Marty's grandmother. Pennant is a half sister to Waer's Red Cloud who played Figure in Walt Disney's movie, "Justin Morgan Had a Horse".
Marty also combines Upwey Ben Don (in the 1950's a many time National Halter Champion himself, but also won the Grand National Get of Sire class, 5 times, a stallion showing with at least five of his get) and his son Kingston into our other family lines. This bloodline brings a very kind, gentle disposition with it and a very correct "old Vermont Morgan" type of confirmation and classic Morgan look. Upwey Ben Don was out of the same mare (Quietude) as Sonfield (owned by Roland Hill), but had a better hip than Sonfield. Upwey Ben Don's sire Upwey King Benn had 4 crosses to Bulrush and multiple crosses to Black Hawk, Hawkins Horse and other Justin Morgan sons through his sire Upwey King Peavine. This line seems to be consistent in the type and quality of offspring produced, when crossed with our bloodlines.
Marty's sire, Ida-Ho Mr. T (owned by Ida-Ho Morgans) is out of the Champion cow cutting mare Ida-ho Mary Lynne.
